Comments Export
Comments export is included in all LiveDune subscription plans, except the trial period.
Comments export from posts is available for Instagram, Facebook, VKontakte, Telegram, YouTube.
Why Comments Export Can Be Useful
Exporting comments to Excel might be necessary to summarize a contest or analyze audience behavior. However, browsing and studying comments directly on social networks is inconvenient, copying manually is labor-intensive, and third-party programs might be unsafe for your accounts (if they request your login and password).
Comments are downloaded into a table, each assigned a sequential number. When running a contest, a randomizer can be used to select a winner. But comments export can also be useful for other tasks:
To analyze the target audience ― their pains, fears, needs, and interests.
To find new blog topics. Users often unintentionally suggest ideas that can be covered in posts.
To monitor reviews and suggestions about your product or service. You may find weaknesses and be able to improve them.
To analyze audience reactions to your posts and adjust your strategy to increase engagement rate.
Although the goals for exporting comments from Instagram, VKontakte, and other social networks may vary, it is more convenient to work with them in a table than in the social networks themselves. There’s no need to open each post, scroll through the comments to the end, and copy some of them to process in more detail, etc. It’s simpler and faster to export everything to Excel.
How to Export Comments from a Social Network to Excel
The number of comments available to download depends on the chosen subscription plan.
Different plans offer different numbers of comments for export. The Blogger plan allows 100 thousand comments, the Business plan allows 500 thousand comments, and the Agency plan allows 5 million comments.
You can find this information on the Payment page by clicking the Compare all plans button in the lower right corner.
First, register on LiveDune and add to the Dashboard the account from which you need to export comments. Then go to the “Monitoring” module ― “Comments”.
Here you need to click the Add account and activate Comments monitoring button:
If your accounts are already added to the Dashboard and the “Comments” module, click the icon with three dots ― “Comments export”.:
This will open the section where you can select the account from which you need to export comments from a post:
After clicking the Select button, a window for selecting a post will appear:
Note that for Telegram you can download comments that were left after connecting the account to LiveDune Comments monitoring:
After clicking the Select button next to a post, the export will begin, which will look like this:
The number of exported comments may differ from the total number of comments under the post. This is due to deleted, hidden, or marked as spam comments, as well as from users who have been blocked, deleted, or have a private account (due to Instagram’s privacy policy, they do not provide them).
Advice: Instagram's policy does not allow downloading comments from private accounts, meaning they won’t be included in the export, and their authors won’t be able to become winners of the giveaway/contest. Consider this in advance and specify in the contest conditions that participants should open their accounts during the results period.
Once the download is complete, a “Download” button will appear. Click it to get a list of all comments in XLS.
Comments export is not available during the trial period.
What Data Will Be in the Excel Table
For each comment, the following information is exported (depending on the social network, the number of fields may vary):
ID of the post/comment.
Link to the author's account and their name.
Comment text.
Date and time the comment was left.
Number of likes on the comment.
