Can't Add Instagram to Dashboard

If you can’t see the account you want to connect, receive error messages, or are unable to connect your Instagram account to Livedune, here are 5 common reasons and solutions. Check them to successfully connect your account to the service.

  1. Is your Instagram profile a business account? If you are trying to connect a personal profile, you won’t be able to do so because Livedune only supports connecting to professional Instagram accounts (business accounts).
If your account is not a professional business account, you should change the account type.
A detailed guide on how to change the account type can be found [here].

  2. Is your account connected to a business page? Open the Instagram app on your smartphone, tap "Edit Profile" or "Change", and scroll down to "Public Business Information".
In the "Page" section, the name of the linked Facebook business page should be displayed as shown in the screenshot below.

You must have permissions (Editor or Admin) for this Facebook business page.
The connection to the service is done through integration with your personal Facebook account, which has management rights.
If nothing is selected in the "Page" section, tap it and select the business page on Facebook, or create a new one if necessary.
    More details are described [here].

  3. Do you have an admin or editor role on the Facebook business page? To connect Instagram to Facebook and integrate with Livedune, you need the appropriate Facebook permissions.
You need the Administrator or Editor role on the Facebook business page linked to your Instagram account.

Sometimes, you may have permissions on one business page, but your Instagram is linked to another, and you don’t have permissions on that one.
If you’re not sure whether you have permissions on the Facebook business page, follow this guide [here].

  4. You need to refresh the connection between your Instagram account and Facebook page The link between your Instagram account and Facebook page allows the use of shared features, but it can be broken if there are changes, such as a password change, a change in the administrator, restrictions imposed by the platform, or simply by Facebook’s request.
Please check the connection between your Facebook business page and Instagram account.

You can check the connection in two ways: through the Instagram app or Facebook.

    • Checking the connection through the Instagram app

    • Checking the connection through Facebook in a browser

    For connection verification, you must:

    • Have full access to the Facebook business page.

    • Be an administrator in the business manager for that account.

    • Have the login credentials for your Instagram account.

    • Ensure that there are no restrictions on the account. Check how to do that [here].

After a successful connection check, the verification notification will disappear.
As long as this notification from Facebook exists, unfortunately, you will not be able to add the account as your own to the service, only as someone else’s. This is due to the broken link between the Facebook business page and Instagram.

Once the verification is successful, follow this guide to reconnect the account to the service.

  5. You didn’t select all accounts and permissions during the initial integration with Livedune
For the service to work correctly, it is essential to grant access to all Facebook and Instagram accounts during the integration, not just the ones you want to add to Livedune.

If not all are selected, the service may not work properly, and issues with statistics may arise. This is very important!
To fix this issue, you need to re-integrate by following this guide [here].
