How to Add Telegram to Inbox Comment section

Adding Telegram to Monitoring is not as straightforward as with other social networks. For other social networks, when adding an account to the Dashboard, the account will automatically appear in the Monitoring module.

For Telegram, simply adding it to the Dashboard is not sufficient.

To add a Telegram channel to Monitoring, go to the Monitoring section and click on the 3 dots and Account Settings:

Then, you need to click on the Add Account button:

Even if Telegram is already added to the Dashboard, you still need to click Add Account in the Monitoring module because this is where the account is added with extended features.

In the next step, click on the Telegram icon:

In the next step, a detailed connection instruction will be available:

To connect the channel, you need to:

  • link it to a group chat for discussions

  • add a bot with admin rights to the channel and the group chat

Go to the bot via the link @BotFather or find the bot @BotFather in the Telegram search:

Start a dialog with the bot using the /start command:

Send it the /newbot command to start creating your bot:

@Botfather will ask you to come up with a name and a username for the bot. The username can be anything but must end in bot. We recommend making the name and username the same.

After that, @BotFather will send you a token.

The token is the access key for connecting the bot to the service. Insert it into the "API Token" field in the Telegram channel addition window in Autoposting.

Then, add the created bot to the administrators of your Telegram channel through the "Info" section and grant it all rights.

Next, go to the settings of your Telegram channel and in the Discussion section, add a group where user comments will be collected.

Add the previously created Telegram bot to this group and give it the role of Administrator with all rights.

After completing all the steps, click the "Connect" button in this window.

The final step is to activate Monitoring for this Telegram channel in Account Settings in LiveDune:

Done! Telegram is connected to Monitoring! You can now respond to Comments and export Comments from posts.

Only new comments made after connecting to Monitoring will be available.
