Available for Instagram only.

To make it easier for potential clients to start a conversation with you, Instagram now has a section with frequently asked questions that are suggested to the user at the beginning of the dialogue. This feature allows users to receive immediate automatic responses to their questions, saving you time on message handling.

In LiveDune, this tool is called "Introductory Messages," and in addition to the standard functionality available in the Instagram app, LiveDune also provides statistics for each question. This allows you to analyze user choices or quickly change/adjust questions.

Icebreakers are a list of frequently asked questions that users can click on to instantly receive an answer. You can write the questions and answers yourself. This feature is available only for business accounts. Questions are only suggested at the start of a new conversation. Questions will not be shown to a user with whom you have already had a Direct conversation.

Introductory messages appear only once when starting a new conversation with a user. To have them appear again, you need to delete the dialogue from Instagram.

To enable Introductory Messages, Select the account for which you want to activate this type of message and click “Activate”:

After activation, specify up to 4 questions (this limit is due to Instagram's policy).

The maximum question length is 80 characters. Then write the answers to the questions. They will be sent automatically. The maximum response length is 500 characters.

Introductory messages can be edited, deleted (trash bin), and reordered (use the "up" and "down" arrows).

To view the statistics for the questions, click on the icon that looks like a chart to the right above the preview of the introductory messages:

Introductory messages will also be included in the overall statistics for dialogues, tags, and response speeds. They are not included in the hourly workload statistics.

You can select the period for viewing the statistics in the upper-right corner, with the default set to one week:

The first table shows the dialogue statistics:

  • Total dialogues - The total number of dialogues for the period. It includes those that were opened or closed during the selected period.

  • New dialogues - The number of new dialogues for the period. It includes those that were opened during the selected period.

  • Users - The total number of users for the period. It includes those users with whom a dialogue was opened or closed during the selected period.

If you do not have Tags and a Work Schedule specified, you will be prompted to add this data, after which charts for these metrics will be built.

Next is the Hourly Workload chart. It shows the times when you receive messages most frequently. Only incoming messages in the account are considered.

In the hourly workload, introductory messages are not considered.

At the bottom of the page, you can find statistics on Introductory Messages, showing how often users clicked on each option:

If you add operators and distribute dialogues among them, there will be a chart showing Summary Data by Operator:

Introductory Messages are a feature that benefits both parties. They save time for the account owner and lighten the workload for managers (operators), while allowing users to quickly receive answers to their questions without a long wait. Additionally, introductory messages help avoid spelling mistakes that managers might make under heavy workload.
